Yvonne Manganaro is a SoCal native that has worked in the retail industry for 30 years, with 17 of those spent at Gelson’s Markets. While earning her BA-History degree at UCLA, Manganaro worked at a single-store operator, learning the grocery industry through a variety of roles. Manganaro worked full time at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management while obtaining her MBA degree in 2002, with an emphasis in Marketing and Strategy.
Following a year of consulting work for Gelson’s former holding company, Manganaro transitioned into full-time employment with Gelson’s. During her tenure, she started ecommerce for the chain, spearheaded the company’s social media efforts, and created the company’s first loyalty program, amidst a period which saw the chain grow by 50%. Manganaro combines a drive to integrate data into marketing decisions, cultivate process improvements through the organization, and collaborate with the merchant and operational teams to achieve an engaging, satisfying experience for customers.
